Your life in weeks
Every box is one week of your life. Enter your birthday to see how many weeks you have already lived — and how many are still ahead. Inspired by Tim Urban's “Your Life in Weeks.”
Keep it on your phone
Year Progress 2026 has a built-in Life in Weeks view, plus the live year progress bar, goals, habits and countdowns — all offline.
What is the “life in weeks” idea?
Popularized by Tim Urban of Wait But Why, the life-in-weeks grid lays out a human life as roughly 4,000 boxes — one per week, about 52 a year. It is a blunt, oddly motivating way to see how finite time is and how much of it is still unwritten.
How many weeks are in a life?
At a life expectancy of 80 years, a life is about 4,160 weeks. This calculator counts the weeks between your birthday and today, then shows the rest of your expected weeks as empty boxes.
