Want to learn the whole world map?
GeoSpark turns this into a full geography game: flags, capitals, tap-the-map quizzes and smart spaced review across all 196 countries.
How do you memorise all the flags?
Recognising a flag is a memory task, and memory loves two things: repetition and spacing. Guess, get instant feedback, and come back to the flags you miss a little later, and that spacing is what moves them into long-term memory. This quiz is a taste of it; the GeoSpark app schedules those reviews for you automatically.
How many countries are there?
There are 196 countries in the world if you count the 193 UN member states plus the Holy See, Palestine and, by most everyday lists, Taiwan and Kosovo, which is exactly why nobody quite agrees on the number. GeoSpark covers all 196.
Which flags get confused with each other?
Chad and Romania differ by a shade of blue. Ireland and Ivory Coast run the same three colours in opposite order, Poland and Indonesia the same two flipped top to bottom, and Monaco sits on top of Indonesia almost exactly. Our flags of the world reference lists the closest match for every country, scored by comparing the flag images themselves rather than grouping them by hand.
